Stanley Sadie Archive Project
Sadie manuscriptCambridge University Library is delighted to have received the Stanley Sadie Archive as a gift from his widow Julie Anne.
Stanley Sadie (1930-2005) studied in Cambridge and went on to become an eminent musicologist, music critic and editor. His many fields of interest include opera, Mozart, Handel, J.C. Bach and Boccherini.
The archive is an important addition to the Library’s existing music collections, which include several archives of British composers, musicians and musicologists, containing research materials crucial to the study of 20-th century British musical life.
Our priority now is to make the Stanley Sadie Archive accessible to researchers and the wider public and the library will be seeking philanthropic support for this project. If you would like further information please contact the Music Department.
