Cambridge University Library

Libraries in Cambridge

The UL welcomes researchers from all subject areas, although its holdings are particularly strong in the arts, humanities and social sciences. In addition to the main building, the UL collections are completed by four libraries that contain subject-focused material in separate locations. These consist of the Medical Library, the Squire Law Library, the Central Science Library, and the Betty and Gordon Moore Library, which covers the subject areas of mathematics, physics, engineering and computer science.

In addition, many college, departmental and faculty libraries are open to you. Please be aware that borrowing rights and opening hours vary considerably from library to library, and admission to is restricted in some cases. We recommend that you check individual library websites before you visit.
