Aquabrowser Search Service (thin)

Service description

Limited search service for building results lists from Aquabrowser. Returns only bibliographic record id, title, database, cover image url and Aquabrowser record id for the main, deduplicated and FRBRised record of each search result. Used in conjunction with the Aquabrowser All Records and Full Record services to first build a deduplicated results list, grab all records for that title, and then flesh them out with further details.

Compulsory:

Optional:

• branch Search limits - options are:
  • UL & Dependents
  • Departments and Faculties
  • College Libraries
  • Affiliated Institutions
  • Electronic Resource
  If not set, searches the whole of Aquabrowser
• resultsPage - allows you to move through paginated results. 25 results are returned on each page. Defaults to 1
• format - output format. Only valid value is json - otherwise defaults to xml.

25 results on each page

• bibId - Newton/Voyager bib id
• title - item title
• database - Newton/Voyager database
• cover_image_url - link to Syndetics cover image (if there is one)
• extID - Aquabrowser record id
• (in next_page section) page - the number of the next page of results (if there is one)

Other notes

As with the Aquabrowser thin service, usually you would pass the Aquabrowser record id output (extID) to the Aquabrowser All Records Service to get the unduplicated list of holdings, and then use the Full Record Service to populate each record.
