Cambridge University Library

The University Library offers an Inter-Library Loan service which provides access for Cambridge students and staff to material not held within Cambridge University, whilst also supplying material from its own stock to other libraries.

CAMBRIDGE STAFF AND STUDENTS

ILL staff are only able to offer a service to University of Cambridge students and staff. We cannot accept requests from any other category of Library user. This is  currently being offered as a FREE service. We always acknowledge any requests but please email ill@lib.cam.ac.uk if you have not received an acknowledgement within 24 hours of submitting a request. (Monday- Friday).

Current Cambridge students and staff can submit Inter-Library Loans requests from anywhere in the world with our Online Request form. Simply fill in the request form, submit and let us try and acquire the material for you.

A wide variety of printed and microform material can be obtained from the British Library and other Libraries within the UK and overseas, including:

  • Books (and chapters from books)
  • Theses
