Composers' Archives at the Cambridge University Library

Viva la Trinité by a member of the UBC, c.1870, at UL: MRA.290.85The music collections are housed in the Anderson Room, on South Front 1 and  Corridor, and on the South Wing 1 Corridor.

The Anderson Room is the reading room for music and contains:

  • Reference books (dictionaries, bibliographies, thematic catalogues, library catalogues, discographies, etc.)
  • The card catalogues (items catalogued before 1989)
  • Computer terminals to access Newton (the online catalogue) for everything catalogued since 1989.
  • Audio-visual facilities for cassettes, CDs and DVDs, and a computer terminal dedicated to accessing the Naxos classical library, and other music sound resources.
  • Historical sets, collected editions of composers, and monuments of music (which are not borrowable), and the first part of the open access borrowable collections.

Requests for closed access items and for assistance with the catalogues should be made to the Enquiry Desk in the Anderson Room during the opening hours.
