Applications are invited for the post of Temporary Reader Services Assistants (RSAs) at the University Library.

These RSA positions will provide general support for the University Library Storage Facility ingest, including (but not limited to) regular book moving, fetching and shelving activities.

This is a diverse and active role within the Collection Development and Description Division which provides key functions in support of the department handling print material to assist in the organisation and logistics of the collections across our many sites throughout Cambridge.

To be effective in this role, you should have a good educational background (including IT literacy), excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, be a flexible and adaptable motivated individual.

Applicants must have the ability to not only work unsupervised but also well as part of a highly active team; you must therefore be physically fit (able to cover significant distances daily across the library, fetch and carry books whilst regularly using stairs).

This entry level role is particularly ideal for those who wish to start a career in Librarianship, or for those who are interested in information services, and understanding the complex nature of academic libraries and their services.

Fixed-term: Full time temporary role for up to 5 months from 1st May 2018 to 30th September 2018. Applicants must be able to commit to the stipulated 5 months.
