The University Library has vacancies for 2 Warehouse Supervisors to manage a team of Warehouse Operatives responsible for key processes in the ingest of material to the Library Storage Facility (LSF) based at Ely. The Library Storage Facility will provide long-term storage for low/no use printed material acquired by the main University Library, affiliated libraries and other faculty and departmental libraries of the University.

The post holders will manage the key processes of ingest of material, stock control, tray making, accession processing, verification, and tray-to-shelf tasks in the warehouse and ensure all work is completed efficiently. This involves co-ordinating the work between the ingest teams at the University Library and Library Storage Facility.

The Warehouse Supervisors will be responsible for managing the team (approximately 8 staff) to meet the targets of the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly ingest into the LSF. The Supervisors are also responsible for managing the LSF facility including opening/closing, reporting maintenance needs and health and safely matters, training and induction for all staff.

The successful applicants should have supervisory experience. Experience of filling a warehouse from new would be desirable. The Supervisors will work one of two shifts: either 08:00-16:00 or 12:00-20:00, subject to final confirmation.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
