The database contains images and related descriptive texts of artefacts held in the National Palace Museum, Taiwan.
(1) Paintings
Paintings from the Eastern Jin 东晋 Dynasty to the end of Qing Dynasty
and the modern era, categorised as landscapes, figure-paintings,
Buddhist figure-paintings, trees, flowers, birds, grasses, insects,
animals, fruit and vegetables, etc. Colophons and seals are included.
(2) Calligraphy
Calligraphic works from the Eastern Jin 东晋 Dynasty to the end of the
Qing Dynasty and the modern era. All works are provided with
transcriptions.
(3) Buddhist Artefacts
Chinese and Tibetan Buddhist artefacts, including sculptures,
ceremonial objects, sutras, votive objects, and paintings. Colophons
and seals are included.
(4) Ceramics
Guan 官 ware of the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as Tang dynasty
Changsha 长沙 and Xing 刑 ware, Song dynasty Ding 定, Guan 官,
Longquan 龙泉 and Jun 钧 ware, and blue-and-white 青花 porcelain from
the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties. Marks and inscriptions are
included.
(5) Jade
Jades from the Neolithic Age, and archaic-style works made in the
Qing Dynasty. Seals and inscriptions are included.
(6) Bronzes
Ritual objects, wine and food vessels of the Shang and Zhou dynasties;
Tang bronze mirrors and bronze censers of the Song
dynasty. Inscriptions are included.
(7) Others
Miscellaneous items, including lacquer, stationery, ivory, bone,
wood, textiles, etc. Seals and inscriptions are included.
