Cambridge University Library’s Digital Content Unit (DCU) have produced a film to provide a glimpse at the journey from our shelves to your screens via Cambridge Digital Library. This behind the scenes view sheds light on the process of digitisation at the University Library and some of complex steps our collections go through in order to make it onto the web. It also showcases our important contribution to the field of Digital Humanities.
The film also features ‘Digital’, a poem by Imtiaz Dharker who was inspired to write about this journey during her residency at the University Library in 2013 as part of the Thresholds Project Poet in Residence programme. The poem so acutely expresses the process that we thought it made an inspiring introduction to it.
