Cambridge University Preservation Development programme (CUPID)
Cambridge University Library have made a commitment to preserving important digital assets and developed a repository service to help with this process. The Library wishes to ensure that the service is well fitted for this preservation role and embeds the best of current preservation and data curation practices. This project will scope out further work, by determining any gaps between needs and current provision and identifying work that might be done to address these.
Project detailsThe aim of the Cambridge University Preservation Development programme (CUPID) is to ensure that those digital resources of the university that need to be preserved for the long term are appropriately cared for and remain accessible and useable. This first project, CUPID 1, is a scoping study. Its aim is to identify work that might need to be undertaken by future projects. Specific objectives of CUPID 1 are to:
The first phase of CUPID will run from May 2009 until early July 2010. In that period we aim to conduct a literature review, an audit of the DSpace@Cambridge repository and start the planning and implementation of various surveys to be run within the University of Cambridge.
