Guidance for e-thesis deposit - new theses
When submitting your thesis for examination, you will receive a notification email from the DSpace@Cambridge team informing you about the voluntary e-thesis submission process to DSpace@Cambridge. When the examination has been completed and you are ready to deposit the thesis in DSpace@Cambridge, please take the following steps:
- Review whether or not your thesis is eligible for deposit
- Review whether or not your thesis contains any third party copyright material. If you need help, please contact the DSpace@Cambridge team for further support.
- Review whether or not your thesis needs to be temporarily restricted or not. If that is the case, please contact the DSpace@Cambridge team for further support.
- Make sure the thesis is in the correct format.
- The DSpace team will automatically give you access to deposit your thesis into your department's theses collection on DSpace@Cambridge. Go to the My DSpace page, login and select "Start a new submission".
- When you have finished the DSpace@Cambridge deposit process, the thesis will be forwarded to the responsible librarian at the University Library. The thesis will be released for access in DSpace@Cambridge when confirmation of examination are received from the Board of Graduate Studies.
- In the longer term the thesis will also be included in the national EThOS service. If you'd like to reserve your thesis from this, please contact the DSpace@Cambridge team.
