Guidance for e-theses deposit - older theses

Are you a Cambridge graduate and still work for the University? Would you be interested in including your thesis in your department's official thesis collection? If so, please take the following steps to deposit your thesis into DSpace@Cambridge:
- Review whether or not your thesis is eligible for deposit
- Review whether or not your thesis contains any third party copyright material. If you need help, please contact the DSpace@Cambridge team for further support.
- Make sure the thesis is in the correct format.
- Send an email to the DSpace@Cambridge team and we will give you access to deposit your thesis into your department's theses collection.
- When you have finished the DSpace@Cambridge deposit process, the thesis will be forwarded to the responsible librarian at the University Library. The thesis will be released for access in DSpace@Cambridge when metadata has been verified.
- Longer term the thesis will also be included in the national EThOS service. If you'd like to reserve your thesis from this, please contact the DSpace@Cambridge team.
University alumni
If you are an Alumnus of the University of Cambridge and wish to deposit your thesis in DSpace@Cambridge, please contact us. You will need to take the following steps:
- Review whether or not your thesis contains any third party copyright material. If you need help, please contact the DSpace@Cambridge team for further support.
- Download, sign and return a signed copy of the author agreement to us by post (Cambridge University Library, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DR). Please keep one signed copy for your reference.
- Please send us an electronic copy of your thesis in a suitable electronic format.
- If possible, give us some descriptive information relating to the electronic version (for instance bibliographic data including subject terms, formats or special fonts used etc).
Departmental support staff
As departmental support staff you might receive enquiries about DSpace@Cambridge or have been made responsible for managing your department’s theses. The DSpace@Cambridge team wish to support departmental staff in encouragingand facilitating e-thesis deposit, and we are happy to meet with support staff in order to discuss possible approaches:
- E-mail campaigns to staff and alumni
- Deposit schemes on behalf of staff and alumni.
- The DSpace@Cambridge team can also if we've got the available resources, deposit theses on behalf of departments. In this is of interest, please contact us.
