Version management
The version of a thesis submitted to DSpace@Cambridge should be identical with the hard copy deposited with the University Library Manuscripts department. This should also include any corrections recommended by the degree committee for the hard copy.
File formats
When it comes to formats, DSpace@Cambridge supports a range, depending on the type of content deposited. For theses a PDF version should be submitted (ideally PDF/A), and it is recommended to leave any security settings disabled as enabling these will inhibit indexing and long term preservation of the file. DSpace@Cambridge can also can hold alternative versions, preferably in open formats.
If the theses contain supporting data these can either be deposited alongside the text version, or as a separate item in other DSpace collections of the department. For further information please consult the "about file formats" page or contact the DSpace@Cambridge Team for guidance.
