Cambridge University Library represented on the inaugural ITSS Technical Council

Cambridge University Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Technical Analyst Dr Leontien Talboom as a member of the new UK Institute for Technical Skills and Strategy (UK-ITSS) Technical Council.

Based at University of Nottingham, the UK Institute for Technical Skills and Strategy has formed a Technical Council of 14 members from a range of institutions and disciplines. The Council will offer their expertise to the Institute's programmes and initiatives, voice the needs of their respective professional communities, and be ambassadors for the Institute.

"As part of the ITSS council I will be guiding and steering activities that come out of the Institute. The call for members of this council was open to all disciplines and career stages and I am very happy to be able to bring a perspective from the GLAM sector. Libraries and other memory institutions are not necessarily thought of in the first instance of a place with many technicians, but there are a large number of us working in this field and I feel very honoured to be able to represent that view."

As part of the UK-ITSS Technical Council, members will attend quarterly meetings for an initial 2-year term. Find out more about the Council and its new members by reading their announcement post.
