Borrowing books
The University Library lends different numbers of books to different categories of reader. Some categories of reader may use the Library for reference only and may not borrow books.

| Non-Resident BA-Cambridge (includes Cert. & Diploma holders) | Reading only - No borrowing rights |
| Graduate Students-Cambridge (studying for Ph.D., M.Phil etc. & Certificates & Diplomas) | 10 books for 8 weeks |
| Ordinands at Cambridge Theology Colleges | 5 books for 2 weeks |
| Affiliated Students-Cambridge B.Ed Students-Cambridge | 5 books for 2 weeks |
| Undergraduates - Cambridge | 5 books for 2 weeks |
| Cambridge University Staff (including Assistant and Research staff) | 10 books for 8 weeks |
| Visiting Scholars | Borrowing: 5 books for 8 weeks |
| All other library users | Reading only - No borrowing rights |
