Trial of East View's Izvestiia Digital Archive

The University Library is pleased to announce a four-week-long trial of East View's Izvestiia Digital Archive, starting on Wednesday 7 September 2011.

Izvestiia was first published in February 1917. Throughout the Soviet period, Izvestiia expressed the views of the Soviet government, while Pravda (whose digital archive the Library has already purchased access to) expressed those of the Communist Party.

The Izvestiia Digital Archive, as that of Pravda, is made up of fully text-searchable scans of all issues of the paper from its first issue onwards, with a gap of approximately one year between the archive's last issue and the current year.

Readers can access the trial on campus here or off campus here.
