Magdalen recently completed her CHESS-funded PhD in Judaeo-Arabic philology at the University of Cambridge, under the supervision of Prof. Geoffrey Khan. She is now a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Cambridge, where her research focuses on the language of Egyptian Jewish, Muslim and Christian folk tales from the Ottoman period.
