The Engineering Library is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual for the role of Research Support Librarian to join our innovative and friendly team, which is part of the wider network of Cambridge University Libraries.

The Department of Engineering is the largest in the University and accounts for 10% of the University. The Engineering Library and Information Service supports the information requirements of the department through its collections, enquiry services, teaching and training, and faculty and research liaison.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Librarian and working closely with the team, the role-holder will have a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Library and Information Service. They will be integral in the development, operation and assessment of the research support service provision; development, delivery and evaluation of training sessions; liaison with staff and students across the department and the wider University of Cambridge; development of the physical and electronic collections; and providing expert guidance on open access and publishing, research data management, and bibliometrics.

You should demonstrate an adaptable and flexible approach to delivering services, experience in developing and delivering teaching and training, and a willingness to keep up to date with developments in research support and scholarly communication. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a creative and practical approach to problem solving are requirements for this role. You will have significant library and information experience or a higher degree in librarianship or information science.
