Liam Sims' role includes acquisition and cataloguing of printed materials from the fifteenth century to the present day, teaching, outreach, exhibitions and oversight of the University Library's Historical Printing Room and associated collections.
Liam has recently completed a part-time PhD into the knowledge networks of the early eighteenth-century Spalding Gentlemen's Society, a collaborative doctoral partnership sponsored by the AHRC-funded Midlands4Cities partnership.

"Small performances": investigating the typographic punches of John Baskerville (1707-75) through heritage science and practice-based research
An interdisciplinary project that will make a substantial contribution to the history of printing technology, whilst ensuring it is a living process that will continue into the future.
