Cambridge University Library is now open for ‘zero contact’ services from Monday-Friday. Please read more about our phased reopening of the UL and Faculty and Departmental Libraries.

Cambridge University Library

zero contact service

Zero contact services are designed to safely begin to expand access to world-class physical collections not available in electronic format. These new services are:

  • Click & Collect will enable the ordering of selected physical books and journals online, and users will be able to make an appointment to collect the items from a designated point at Cambridge University Library.

  • Scan & Deliver will enable users to request an individual scanned copy of one chapter (or 5%) of a monograph or one article per issue of a journal from the University Library’s modern collections, subject to relevant conservation approval and copyright permission.

  • Users will be able to return books to the UL or to the existing drop boxes on the Sidgwick site.

Please note that Click & Collect and Scan & Deliver are only available to current staff and students (including ICE staff and students, and NHS partners), with an active Raven account.

Our FAQs on reopening have more information about the development of these services, including how we are managing our commitment to the safety of library staff and library users with zero contact services.
