Cambridge Arctic Shelf Programme, established in 1975 as the successor body to the Cambridge Spitsbergen Expeditions. Formerly a research group under the aegis of the Department of Earth Sciences, CASP's remit now extends to field, literature and analysis-based geological research in sedimentary basins outside the Arctic. In the 21st century it is a not-for-profit charitable trust simply known as CASP.
