In operation from 1 October 2018 as a successor to the University Council's Standing Committee on Applications (or, Applications Committee). Supported by the Student Registry and reporting to the General Board, EAMC considers applications from undergraduate students; a separate set of processes exist for graduate students.
The committee's remit extends to: examination access arrangements, including alternative forms of assessment; coursework extensions; examination allowances (for students unable to undertake all or part of an examination, or who have failed all or part of an examination, due to illness or other extenuating circumstances); non-standard combinations of papers; disregarding terms (for students forced to be away from Cambridge for medical or other extenuating circumstances); fee remission.
