Cambridge University Library

A building in Trumpington Street, whose fine tower prompted the Edwardians to point it out to freshmen as the University Church. Built in 1831 with part of the surplus funds subscribed for a statue of William Pitt, Prime Minister 1783-1801 and 1804-06, and MP for the University, the building is still occupied by the University Press, but until 1936 also housed the University Archives and other University offices.
