Founded in 1905 and named after Miss Rebecca Flower Squire, d. 1898, whose bequest made it possible; housed originally on the Downing Site, from 1935 to1991 in Cockerell’s Building in the Old Schools (now the library of Gonville and Caius College), and now on the Sidgwick Site  the Squire is one of the largest law libraries in the country.
