A student’s recommended support package may include provision for one-to-one support, which is arranged through individual Colleges.

Please contact your College to discuss what support is available. It also may be a good idea to contact the library that you are intending to visit directly to discover what support is on offer. They will be able to provide advice on how that specific library can assist.

At the University Library, library support can include:

  • Use the iDiscover catalogue to find resources
  • Collect books from the open shelf floors
  • Collect books from the Reader Services Desk, Reading Room or West Room
  • Act as a proxy borrower, borrowing on behalf of a disabled Library user
  • Help with the use of assistive technology
  • Help with copying and scanning

For users who are not students, University Library staff may be able to help with some of the above assistance. Please contact us using disability@lib.cam.ac.uk for further information.
