Virtual Open Days, 17 & 18 September 2020

In view of the latest advice about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the in-person Cambridge Open Days have been cancelled. However, the University will be delivering Virtual Open Days on the 17th and 18th September 2020. The University Library will be taking part in the following ways.

  • Virtual Tours

The University is now available to explore via virtual tours; have a look around the University Library and find out about the services and resources we offer.

  • Chat

Do you have any questions after your virtual tour? Librarians from the University Library and the Faculty and Departmental libraries will be on hand to answer any queries on our instant LibChat service over both days.

  • CamGuides

CamGuides is an excellent resource to prepare you for starting at Cambridge. You can see a general introduction to CamGuides here; as well introductions to CamGuides for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences students and CamGuides for STEMM students

  • Virtual Reality tours

Join us for a tour of the University Library in Virtual Reality! Join a librarian in the lobby of vTime throughout the day for a 15-minute personal tour. vTime is cross platform and can be found on Google PlayOculusGoogle VROculus GOApple App StoreSamsung Gear VRWindows Mixed Reality and Daydream


The September Virtual Open Days are aimed at prospective applicants in Year 12 (or equivalent) and prospective mature applicants (aged 21 or over), together with any parents or supporters. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore our University and Colleges virtually and get an insight into what it is like to be a student at the University of Cambridge.
