Join staff from the Zoology Museum and Cambridge University Library for this hands-on session searching for minibeasts just like Charles Darwin.  Children will get the chance to search for insects in the grounds of the University Library followed by a craft activity where they will get to create their own creature to take home. This event is part of Summer at the Museums.

This event is being hosted as part of Cambridge University Libraries' exhibition, Darwin in Conversation. Charles Darwin’s name is so famous, still so constantly invoked in debates on evolution, society, and religion, that the man himself is easily overlooked.

Darwin’s letters sit alongside his famous publications, providing a more rounded, personal view of Darwin. A prolific correspondent, he wrote and received over 15,000 letters in his lifetime. Cambridge University Library’s upcoming exhibition uses this correspondence to uncover little-known aspects of Darwin’s life

The exhibition is free, and open 9am-6.30pm Monday-Friday and 9am-4.30pm Saturdays. These workshops are being held immediately next to our exhibition space, so you are welcome to enjoy Darwin in Conversation before or after your workshop.
