Living Water: In-Conversation with the Curator
Join us for an evening with Dr Mark Wormald curator of Cambridge University Library’s current exhibition Living Water: Poetry, Art and the Fight For Clean Rivers. Dr Wormald will be in conversation with Dr Chris Burgess, Head of Public Engagement. The talk will be followed by audience questions, and the opportunity to visit Living Water after hours until 7pm.
Dr Mark Wormald has been an Official Fellow and College Lecturer in English at Pembroke College Cambridge since 1992. He is the author of The Catch: Fishing for Ted Hughes (Bloomsbury, 2022); in the course of his research he met the artist and fisherman Barrie Cooke, close friend of Hughes and Seamus Heaney. Pembroke College announced the acquisition of the Barrie Cooke archive in 2020. Mark co-organised and co-hosted two major conferences in Cambridge in 2019 and 2023, each inspired by Hughes and Cooke's environmental activism, on the poetry, science and plight of Atlantic salmon and of chalk streams.
