Poems on the Underground: Celebrating 40 years
Poems on the Underground has delighted millions of commuters, tourists and Londoners since the first posters appeared on the Tube in 1986. Cambridge University Library will be celebrating 40 years since the publication of this beloved literary project.
Hosted by Dr Jessica Gardner, University Librarian, join us for a conversation with, and readings from, project co-directors Judith Chernaik, Imtiaz Dharker and George Szirtes.
The archive was donated to Cambridge University Library in 2024 and includes posters, eclectic memorabilia and letters. A small selection will be on display at this event. Tickets are free and include a complimentary drink and the opportunity to enjoy the Living Water: Poetry, Art and the Fight for Clean Rivers exhibition after the talk.
