The Tea Room counter is set up with cake display cabinets, drinks machines and a pay point

The University Library Tea Room is situated in the North Wing, and is a great place to meet friends and take a break from your work.

The room is open Monday-Friday from 9am to 6.30pm (9:30pm in full Easter term), and on Saturdays from 9am to 4.20pm. Find term dates on the University's webpage.

The Tea Room serves barista coffee and a daily-changing variety of sandwiches, paninis, snacks and cakes.

On Mondays to Fridays, serving hours are 9am to 3pm.

On Saturdays, serving ends at 2pm.

You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks to the Tea Room, and to use the space to socialise or work.

You can buy cold drinks and snacks from the vending machine in the Locker Room.

 

Eating and drinking around the library

Food can be consumed only in the Tea Room and in the courtyards; please make sure that food and drinks are covered to prevent spillages if you are carrying them through the library to these areas. 

You are welcome to have lidded drinks and water in no-spill containers at desks around the open library.

You can take water in no-spill containers into the Main Reading Room, the Aoi Pavilion, the Anderson Room the South Wing Study Hub.

No drinks may be taken into the Special Collections reading rooms (Manuscripts, Rare Books and Maps).
