Intercollegiate knock-out competitions in various sports, or, at times, drama. The suffix ‘-ers’ was much favoured early in the twentieth century, especially at Oxford, where it gave rise to the monstrous Martyrs’ Memogger, and the exotic wagger pagger bagger.
