The modern French collections are managed by the Collections and Academic Liaison Department. The Rare Books Department is responsible for pre-1900 collections, working closely with the language specialists in Collections and Academic Liaison.

The Collections and Academic Liaison team are based in South Wing 1.

Responsibility for the registration of material upon receipt resides with the Materials Processing Department, the Periodicals Department and the Rare Books Department, though none of these has staff specifically devoted to foreign language material.

It can be difficult in a large institution such as the University Library for readers to establish contact with language specialists. Please do not hesitate to contact the Collections and Academic Liaison team via the e-mail address below or by visiting South Wing 1 whenever you have comments or enquiries relating to the French collections.
