The Councils of the Schools consist of members appointed by the Board of each Faculty represented in the School, and by the General Board. The Councils have the same powers of reporting to the University as a Faculty Board and appoints a member of the Appointments Committee of each Faculty represented. The Councils serve as co-ordinating organisations and may prepare, or process, material before it reaches the General Board. At present there are five such Councils: Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences (including Veterinary Medicine), Clinical Medicine, Technology, Arts and Humanities, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
