Biography: 

Kathleen (Kay) Wood-Legh, was a medieval historian and a founder member the dining group for female academics in Cambridge that led to the creation of Lucy Cavendish College. She was born in Ontario, Canada and attended McGill University before coming to Cambridge to study for a PhD. She had been blind since childhood.  Her best-known works are Studies in church life in England under Edward III (1934) and Perpetual Chantries in Britain (1965).
